1. RoomMate and your account
RoomMate is a free, ad-free, English-language Android 0.0.1 beta for adults with eligible TU Delft student mailboxes in the Netherlands. It provides Community, course and study tools, private Market and housing listings, and messages tied to listings.
Young Jun Chi operates RoomMate individually, independently of TU Delft. Registered address: Stieltjesweg 12, 2628 CK Delft, Netherlands. Contact: support@roommate.ac.
You must be 18 or older and control an eligible @student.tudelft.nl
mailbox. Under-18s must not use RoomMate, including through another account.
Mailbox verification and your age statement do not prove identity, age or
current enrolment. One separately verified internal operator account is
reserved for operation, testing, moderation and support; it is not a student
account.
Keep your credentials private, report suspected unauthorised access and do not evade verification or account restrictions. To join or continue using this beta, separately accept these Terms and the Community Rules & Safety, acknowledge the Privacy Policy, and make the 18+ confirmation. Privacy acknowledgment is not consent to every use of your data.
2. Using the beta
RoomMate has no paid features, subscriptions, service fees or transaction commissions. Features may change and interruptions or errors may occur. Check important course, grade, schedule and listing information with an authoritative source. RoomMate is not an official academic record or emergency service.
Market and housing are for private student-to-student activity. Professional sellers, landlords, agents and other traders must not use them commercially. RoomMate is not a party, broker, payment provider or guarantor for an agreement between users and does not verify their identities, ownership or listings.
You keep ownership of your content and must have the right to share it. You grant RoomMate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, transmit, format and moderate it only as needed to provide your chosen features, enforce the rules and meet legal duties. The licence ends when those purposes end, subject to necessary retained records and backup replacement. The Privacy Policy explains audiences, anonymous display and deletion.
3. Optional support
Support the dev opens ko-fi.com/roommatejun externally after confirmation. One-time or monthly support is voluntary and buys no access, features, rewards, visibility, priority or moderation benefits. It is not represented as a tax-deductible charitable donation.
Ko-fi and its payment provider apply their own terms, privacy notices and cancellation controls. Deleting your RoomMate account or uninstalling the app does not cancel monthly support. Email support@roommate.ac about payment concerns or refunds. Do not use Ko-fi to pay another user for goods, rent or deposits.
4. Moderation and appeals
The Community Rules & Safety explain reporting and blocking. RoomMate may remove or restrict content or accounts, preserve necessary evidence and make lawful referrals. Decisions consider context, severity, history, safety and affected rights. Credible under-18 concerns may lead to proportionate restrictions during human review.
Affected users receive specific reasons and a review route for rule or illegal-content decisions unless information may lawfully be withheld. Reporters receive the decision and challenge information where required, without another user's private account details.
Use the available appeal action or email support@roommate.ac with “Moderation appeal.” A person reviews the decision and may uphold, change or reverse it. Deleted media may not be recoverable.
5. Leaving, changes and your rights
You may stop using RoomMate at any time. Delete your account through Home profile avatar → Profile → Advanced settings → Delete account, or email support@roommate.ac with “Account deletion.” The Privacy Policy explains verification and retention. Support, privacy requests, deletion and available appeals remain accessible if your account is restricted or you decline an update.
Material changes receive notice where required and may require fresh acceptance. An update cannot silently enrol you in a paid plan. Beta status does not remove statutory guarantees, remedies, mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory law and jurisdiction rules determine the applicable law and courts. Contacting RoomMate does not limit a regulator or court complaint or stop a legal time limit.
