Safety at RoomMate
Child safety and CSAE standards
RoomMate is for people 18 or older. Child sexual abuse and exploitation are prohibited across the service, including in posts, comments, profiles, listings and messages.
These instructions support the Community Rules & Safety. They are an information page, not another document to accept.
Protect children
Prohibited content and conduct
RoomMate prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming, sextortion, trafficking and sexual exploitation of anyone under 18. Do not request, create, possess or share child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or solicit sexual images of a child.
RoomMate removes or restricts access to confirmed CSAM and reports it to the appropriate authority where required. Necessary evidence may be preserved with restricted access, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Report a concern
Share the location, not the material
Report in the app, or email support@roommate.ac with “Child safety”. Identify the content or account and where you saw it. You can email without signing in, including if your account is restricted.
Do not download, save, screenshot, attach or forward suspected CSAM. Give only the location and the information needed to explain the concern.
For an illegal-content notice, follow the notice instructions. For questions or other concerns, use Safety support.
Immediate danger: call 112 in the Netherlands or your local emergency number. RoomMate reports and emails are not emergency channels.
